Lisa Wingate's Tending Roses

Lisa Wingate's Tending Roses is a simple yet profound novel. It tackles simple but serious dilemmas we seldom see as a family. Sometimes we have to take a look at our lives and ask ourselves: do we really need what we think we need? Does the things we think can make us happy do these material things can really make us happy and give us genuine joy? we take for granted of what is really important to us, we tend to ignore and set aside our priorities when it comes to our families. Tending Roses has valuable insights when it comes to little things that needs to pay close attention to, especially our bonds with our family. Some of the lines I like are:1.)From Gradma Rose's wildflower diary- "maybe we should start wanting less" 2.)grandma rose to kate- "when you feel burdened, listen to the laughter of your children.Take delight in them. They will make your load seem right. 3.)Grandma Rose to Kate- "The secret to a happy life is not what you want.It is in learning to want what you get."

PS: I'll be posting more about this book in the coming days.
